Making Appliation for C&MA Ministry
There are four ways that a person can get applications for service with the C&MA.
1. Applications in paper format are available from the district office. There are five forms included in this packet.
• Application Process for Alliance Ministry (4 pages) - intro to process, etc.
• Release of Records and Mediation Agreement (1 page) - to be signed and returned to your district office before starting the application.
• Application for Alliance Ministry (16 page booklet) - also, contains the list of reference people, the agreement for ministry, the doctrinal questionnaire, doctrinal statement and biographical inventory. This is the core application in one handy booklet.
• Transcript request form (1 page) to request a person’s transcripts. Need one for each school they have attended.
• Character Reference (4 pages) - Five should be provided to each applicant. Most districts prepare a cover letter for the references. A generic letter is provided on the www.called2serve.org/forms page for downloading and printing.
2. These forms are available for downloading and printing in a PDF at www.called2serve.org/forms. The forms are available in both English and Spanish. A person can download and print the forms on a color printer. The applicant completes these in a hardcopy version.
3. The electronic forms can be attached to an e-mail and sent to an applicant to download and print.
4. The most efficient and the preferred method is the on-line application process. There are a number of ways to get to the starting point:
• A person can go to www.called2serve.org and navigate to the “create a profile” page. One clicks on the “Connect with the worldwide work of the C&MA” link. On the next page, there is a button on the upper right-hand side called “create profile.” This takes them to a “create a profile” page where they can choose a username and a password. Once they have provided that information, they go into a preliminary questionnaire which they can complete. You can choose to have them bypass the Preliminary Questionnarie by asking them to e-mail you when they have created a profile. You then search on their name and move them to “Filling out the Applications” through your back office connection in MYCMA … App Track. The app track instructions help you know how to do this.
• The district can e-mail the applicant a link to go straight to the “create a profile page.” That link is: https://my.cmalliance.org/called2serve/newuser.jsp.
• The district can go to the new user page at https://my.cmalliance.org/called2serve/newuser.jsp and create a profile for the applicant and send them the link, their username and password. The link to the log in page is at https://my.cmalliance.org/called2serve/index.jsp.
• The applicant can get to the applications through the main Web site of the C&MA. They would go to www.cmalliance.org and click on the “Serve” button at the bottom of the main page. That would take them to a page where they choose if they are interested in U.S. Ministry or International Ministry. They would choose “U.S. Ministry.” They can then choose which type of role they are interested in and choose which way they would like to start the process. For entry-level people, they should be referred to the “Serve with the C&MA” link under the question “Beginning to consider pastoral ministry?” Those who are transferring to the C&MA should click on the link “transferring from another denomination.”
